I *Heart* U

Hello everyone,

I wanted to play along with CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge Blog this week, because I love the look of CAS cards. Its almost two years ago I entered one of my cards into one of their challenge and I received a honorable mention for it. That was my last card posted two years ago. Click Here to see that post. Click Here to see their post.

My card is perfect for Valentine's Day. I wanted my little red heart to pop so I used mostly white.

I really liked my card but I wanted to make it a little more interesting so I add a little splash of color in the background and a couple of sequins for a little sparkle.

I quite like how it turned out and my little red heart is still stands out.
I am entering it into CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #108

Hello!

Hello everyone,

Its been almost two years since my last post! I had to take a break because of obligations with my children school. A lot has happened and we have moved homes yet again. At least it wasn't across country like the last time. Now I am settled into our new home and I am ready to get back to my blog.  Bring on the challenges. Let me know what your favorite challenges now.

For my return post I made a Hello card. I used a few of my new die purchases for it and I must say I love how it turned out. I also love how it screams bring on spring! I thinking of you all, my East Coast friends.

I am entering this card in to:

As You Like it Challenge - Favorite Matt or Shiny and why.  I use way more matt paper in my crafting, I think shiny can detract from a main image. I sometimes like to add shiny accents to my projects.

You've Got Cute-A-Tude!

Hello everyone,

About two months ago I decided to take a Copics class. I have been wanting to try them out for awhile and I was able to make a beginner's class at Memories Live On. I really enjoyed my class and I have been getting a marker whenever I can. In the class we were able to use a My Favorite Thing (MFT) Stamp and I just loved the little figures in the sets and I love the cute little sentiments that come along with them.

Here is my first attempt at using Copics. There are so many mistakes! I had so much trouble keeping the colors inside the line, I really need to just slow down I guess. I still like how my card came out.

Since I had done this image in class I decided to try another MFT stamp for entering into a Challenge at Celebrate the Occasion. I have been part of the DT before and I love to go over and show my support whenever I can. So here is my card done all on my own.

Isn't she the cutest thing! I just love her, she has so much attitude! I tried to copy the little flower in her hair with my Fiskars punch and I couldn't stop putting them on the card. I love how they look on the card. I will use this card for my girlfriend's daughter's birthday. I am so happy with my Copics and I am loving this new turn in my crafting.

I am entering this card in

Fantabulous News!

Hello everyone,

I have really great news I wanted to share with you. I have been chosen by Robin the creator of Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to be a part of the Fantabulous Design Team. I am very humbled to be serving with the creative ladies that make up her DT. I have always visited and participated in the Challenges there and have even had two of my projects chosen for the top five.

My first project for the DT will be posted on March 12th, so I better get busy creating. Before I go, I would love to share the project I made for this week's Challenge #100 over at FCCB. The challenge is to use the FCCB colors (purple, green and turquoise) in your projects.

I first made this little gift bag for a make and take at the Anniversary Crop for Memories Live On (shared  a photo below) and thought I would adapt it for this challenge. The carnation was made out 4- 1 1/2 inch scalloped circle using a method I learned a few years ago online (sorry I have no link).

Distressed Thank You Card

Hello everyone,

Thanks for all the lovely comments on my previous post, I am so excited about sharing my talents.

This week I made a card for two challenges. They are
Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #48: Thank You (must use a punch) and
My Sheri Crafts Challenge #77: New Things

This is the most distressing I have done on any of my works so I guess that is a new technique that I have used and I used my new Tim Holtz walnut stain distressing ink for it. This was my first Timmy distress ink. I also love the patterned paper which was a gift to myself for Christmas. The paper is the DCWV Adhesive Fabric Paper. Have you seen them in Michaels or JoAnn's? I haven't had the chance to use it in my Cricut when I do I'll share with you.

I have also linked this card in DL.ART's Thankful Thursday Link up Challenge: Anything goes.

What was used:

Melt Down Page

Hello everyone,

I would love to share my latest page with you. I have not been doing any pages for awhile and I have 100 pictures printed on my desk to crop. I also wanted to participate in the challenge at Celebrate the Occasion so I combined the two. Their theme is Any Occasion must use polkadots.

The pictures are of my daughter, I was just trying to get a cute picture of her with her cute clips but I guess I took a few too many pictures, she got totally fed up with me. I also followed a sketch from my Page Maps 2 book.

I am also trying to do more journalling in my own handwriting on my pages. I really prefer printing my journalling blocks because I think it looks so much neater.

What was used:
Basic Grey Olivia Paper
Basic Grey Basic White Paper
Basic Grey Urban Couture Letter Stickers

Hot Air Balloon Card

Hello everyone,

There has been a new challenge up at Celebrate the Occasion since Tuesday and the theme this week is Birthday but you 'must use a balloon' on your project. I made this simply card with a cute $1 stamp I found at JoAnns.

I love the effect of the three balloons. The middle balloon I cut out and up with popdots to have a little 3-D effect on the card. Here is a little close up of the balloons. It is a very simply card but I love the effect. My greeting is not as straight as I would have loved but it works.

What was used:
Recollection Cardstock
Martha Stewart Cool Colors School Days Paper Pack
Archival Inks in Banana, Aqua and Carnation
$1 Stamp from JoAnns
Ribbon from my local craft store

Now I have some big news to share:
I have been neglecting my blog friends and followers for the past couple of weeks because I am very busy trying to sort life out to move from MA to CA! Its crazy, scary, exciting and sad all together. I apologize for not commenting on your blogs and I have not posted on my blog as much as I usually do because we are trying to get everything sorted her.

I will still keep my post on the DT at CTO because I gave my word and luckily I can schedule my posts for when they are due so I am busy trying to make my projects and write my posts. I am not sure when I will have my scrap room set up when I get there, especially since I have two little ones I will really have to sort them out first, get them into schools, etc. I don't know what I am gonna do without my scrappy stuff for a month or two.

I hope you will bear with me for the time and I won't forget about you all and I hope you will still keep coming back to visit with me when my posts appear. The one constant in this move is that you all will be coming with me.

Thanks for all the love and support!
Thanks especially to My CTO DT members for understanding!

Happy Scrapping!

Animals Circle Accordion Card

Hello Everyone,

I have this idea for an accordion card and thought I would combine a couple of challenges in making it. I always like to support my girls over at Celebrate the Occasion on my week off and I thought that this would a perfect shape for my card. I have to admit I went a little picture crazy on this post but I am really proud of my card. I will have to try a square one in the future because this circle one doesn't easily stand my itself.

The scalloped circles are each 4 inches and they were welded together on my Gypsy then rotated on the page so that they could be cut. I used one of my new favorite carts for the images, Nate's ABCs. The trouble with a 4 inch working area is that the images have to be cut smaller to fit in the frame and that meant I had to cut at 1.75 to 2 inches and some of the pieces were so tiny that I could hardly see them on the mat so I had to use my markers to add details.

I am also liking the sun on each scene, which is made up of twine wrapped around a few times on a punched circle.

I am linking this card to:
Celebrate The Occasion:  Circle Shaped Card (Any Occasion)
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday: #74 'Birthday Bash'
Cricut Cardz Challenge: #89 'Its a Jungle Out There'
Patches Of Pink: Thursday Link Up Party

What was used:
Gypsy
Cricut Nate's ABCs (Images form 1.75 to 2 inches)
Cricut Elegant Edges (Base scalloped circles)
Cricut Georges and Basic Shapes (circles)
Cricut Once Upon A Princess (clouds)
Recollections Basics Light Blue Paper
We R Memory Keepers Cardstock
Divine Twine Green Apple, Cotton Candy, Lemon, Aqua and Orange
