FCCB Challenge #127: On The Job

 Hello Everyone,

It's time for another challenge at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. This week we are challenging you to make a project with an occupational character (police, mail carriers, doctors, teachers, etc).

I made this card for my daughters class to give to our local Fire fighters. The kids had a fun afternoon wih the guys who welcomed them and showed them around the station. I enjoyed the trip too. I made the card 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 to give the kids enough space to sign it.

I like to cut the accessories from the Paperdolls Carts a few times in different colors  and edit them so that the images have different color layers. As I did with the fire truck (the firefighters have white trucks in our city).

What was used:
Cricut Everyday Paperdolls
Peachy Keen Everyday Character Faces Assortment
Stampendous Happy Messages Stamp Set
DCWV Patterned Paper
Recollections Cardstock
Signo White Pen
Black ink

Happy Scrapping!

FCCB Challenge #120: Sunny Days

Hello everyone,

Its another Monday so there is a new challenge up at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. We are challenging you to make a project with a yellow sun. Although its my week off from the DT this week I wanted to join in with the ladies for two reasons.

1) The theme Sunny Days. I still can't get over the weather in the Cali Bay Area it hasn't rained in months. It always Sunny Days here but we could use some rain.
2) I am celebrating a huge milestone in my weight loss journey. I have been on Weight Watchers for one year. I have lost 52 lbs and I have just reached the top end of my health weight range. I still have 9 lbs to go so my journey is not over just yet!

So I made this card to celebrate me! I have been enjoying the sunny days hiking in the Bay Area hills (with girlfriends).

I also made the card interactive by making the sun a slider moving up over the hills.

I also used one of My Pink Stamper's sentiments from her Never Give Up set. When I saw this set I just had to have it because this particular sentiment has been my mantra throughout my journey.

Here are some before and after photos of me. In the first photo I cutting from a Gypsy for the first time. The second was taken in December 2011 and the last photo shows me with one of my hiking girlfriends about a three weeks ago.

What was used:
Cricut Pink Journey (walker)
Don Juan (sun)
Everyday Paperdolls (grass, hills and path)
Stand and Salute (clouds)
Gypsy
My Pink Stamper Never Give Up Stamp set
Studio G $1 punches (for the flowers)
Inks and Stickles
Recollections Basics Light Blue Distressed Paper
Cardstock: Recollections and We R Memory Keepers

I hope you will join in with us this week. I can't wait to see what you will come up with.
Happy Scrapping!

FCCB #117 - B-B-Q Time

Hello everyone,

Its time for a new challenge at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. This is last
challenge in my first term as a FCCB DT member. I said  first because I was
chosen to continue on with the DT for a second term. I am really excited about
that. Before I get into this week's post I would like to say goodbye to the ladies
I served with in the over the past four months and say welcome to the ladies
I will be working with for the next four months.

This month's theme is B-B-Q Time. Make a project using hotdog, hamburger,
etc (BBQ or Picnic foods). This month I was inspired by beautiful summer shape
cards in Paper Crafts Magazine. I made a hamburger shaped card.

Close up of patty

Close up of the flag

I could not keep it way from my son. He really does not like eating meat like

happily eat it up!

Paperdolls for Everyday (hamburger)
Simply Charmed (text)
Create A Critter (flag)
DCWV Summer Dream Stack
We R Memory Keepers cardstock
Recollections cardstock
Queen and Co Pearls

Celebrate The Occasion Challenge #36: Fall Theme

Hello Everyone,

My family and I have now moved into temporary housing in California. I am missing my old home and my friends terribly, but I am loving this CA warmth. We won't get our household stuff (and my scrapbook stuff ) until mid November. I am having weird withdrawal symptoms, but I am really excited because the home we will eventually move into will be walking distance to JoAnn's!

This project I made a few weeks ago for our weekly challenge over at Celebrate the Occasion. Our theme this week is Fall! I made my first shaker card for this challenge. The idea is you are inside looking out of a window with a oak tree outside and the leaves blowing about.

I used my Gypsy to make the base of the card and used strips of pop-dots to keep the layers apart so that the little leaves can move around when you shake the card.

Inside

I found the cutest little poem on line that I printed and put on the inside of the card. I found it here.

Falling Leaves
Little leaves fall softly down
Red and yellow, orange and brown
Whirling, twirling round and round
Falling softly to the ground

Little leaves fall softly down
To make a carpet on the ground.
Then, swish, the wind comes whistling by
And sends them dancing to the sky.

What was used:
Cricut Gypsy
Cricut Christmas Solutions (Window)
Cricut Everyday Paper Dolls (Leaves)
Cricut Paper Dolls Dress Up (Tree)
Transparency
Recollections Basics Light Blue Paper
Cardstock: Recollections, The Paper Company

Please join us at CTO, see what the DT projects and wow us with your brilliance.

Happy Scrapping!

Hello Friends Card

A graduate of the high school in my town is now a US soldier serving in Afghanistan. He wrote home to his teachers and the parents in the community, that there is a school near to where he is stationed in dire need of the basic supplies that children in the US take for granted. I got together a few supplies to donate, but when I was asked to make a card to send over with the package I was quite chuffed!

The package was to be sent for Christmas but I thought since Christmas is not celebrated in Afghanistan then I would make a friendship card. This is what I came up with.

The card size was 5 1/2 X 8 1/2. I made it twice the normal size to have enough room for the teachers and kids to sign it.

I used Everyday Paperdolls and Going Places carts for the cuts. I did have to edit the shirt on the Afghan boy with my Gypsy to get it long enough and his hat was just a cap with the tip trimmed off.
The boys and clothes were cut at 4 1/2 inches, The world was cut at 3 3/4.  I embossed the American boy's sweater with the snowflakes Cuttlebug folder then inked it to make it pop.

I used Peachy Keen Everyday Character Faces Assortment stamp set for the face and Glaze White pen for the white of the eyes. I downloaded the flags from online and printed them on photo paper and attached them to toothpicks.

The 'Hello Friends' stamp was actually taken from 2 different stamp sets. 'Friends' from My Pink Stamper Punny-licious set and 'Hello' from TPC Studio-Greetings set.

Enjoy. Please feel free to email me with questions and I love comments!
Happy Scrapping!

Butterflies Gallore

I just love butterflies. I used different color glitter cardstock (DCWV) to cut these butterflies. I used Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut Cart to cut the butterflies at 3/4, 1 and 1 1/4 inches. Then I scored them so that the wings popped up.

I used the brochure as the title of the page. It was too long to fit on the front of the page without covering the flower border so I cut a slit in the page and made a pocket at the back of the page to hold it in place. Then I made a journaling spot in front of it to hide the slit, I will put the journaling in later. The green edge of butterflies around the journaling spot was done with my Martha Stewarts pop-up butterfly edge punch.

Much love,
Judy

Some recent cards

I have been busy making cards. Here are a few of my favorites.

These cards were done using Forever Young Cricut Cartridge. I really love the images on this cartridge, its really fun to use for cards for your girl friends. I have also used my Cuttlebug embossing folders with them too.

These next cards I used two of my favorites flowers (Primas and Petaloos) and one of my Martha Stewart border punches.

I bought the DCWV Flower Shower Spring Stack and love it! Here are a few cards I made with the a few pages.

These are cards made with my Cricut cartridges or SCAL.

Other miscellaneous cards I have made with stamped images and one with a chipboard cupcake.
